Roger Davis is a 1974 graduate who was a four-year letter-man in basketball. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a prolific 6-foot-2, 190-pound shooting guard who started three years. In his senior season, he led the team in two categories – scoring and assists – with an average of 22.5 points and 4.2 assists per game. Without the benefit of the 3-point shot, he scored 587 points while shooting at a 48.9 percentage rate. In that senior year, he also was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and was the leading collegiate scorer in Arkansas. He led all scorers with 21 points and was named the Most Valuable Player for his performance in the first-ever Arkansas Collegiate All-Star game. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in community recreation, he played two years with the Eastern Pro Basketball League in New York before accepting position in 1976 with the Alternative Education City and Schools Program in New York under President Jimmy Carter’s Administration. He is a consultant, business owner and member of Free Life Christian Center in Pontiac.
