ABC's of Successful Classroom Management
Attendance and effort usually determine output. Success requires both.
Be on time to class; being late will only draw attention to you in a negative way.
Cell phones should not be used in class
Doing your best means never stop trying
Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world
Focus on being productive instead of busy
Go visit your instructors during his or her office hours
Have a positive attitude
Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking
Join a study group, get involved
Keep up with your assignments and due dates
Libraries are good places to do some serious studying. Cool people hang there too.
Mistakes are proof that you are trying
Never be afraid to ask questions- raise your hand; meet instructors after class; use email
Open your eyes and mind to the instructor and your classmates’ thoughts and beliefs.
Place your cell phone and/or pager in the silent or off position while in class.
Question with respect. Do not make the instructor or your classmates feel stupid.
Remember to bring the book, a notepad, and pen or pencil (already sharpened) to class every day.
Show up to class- some instructors take roll; some do not. Be there just in case
Treat your instructor, classmates, and the custodian who cleans the classroom with respect.
Understand the instructor’s requirements for grades at the beginning of the semester.
Volunteer to do extra in class
Waiting until the last minute to ask for help will not get you help.
X-ray vision is not allowed on exam days—scholastic dishonesty is taken very seriously.

Zeros will never help your grade point average.
