Box Score WHITE HALL, Ark. (April 27) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team used a five-run sixth inning to propel themselves to a 6-1 win over Southern University, here Thursday afternoon at White Hall City Park.

Both teams finished the contest with seven hits apiece.

Tonnay Hawkins finished with a team high three hits to lead the Lady Lions, while both Shauna Knighten and Aubrion James finished with two hit each to lead the Jaguars.

Angelique Ramos (8-8) got the win for the Lady Lions. She gave up seven hits and struck out five in six and two-third innings of work.Â

James took the loss for the Jaguars. She gave up seven hits, three earned runs and struck out six in five and two-third innings of work.

UAPB was first to light up the scoreboard with
Shanice Akins scoring on a
Ta'Lyn Moody single through to the left side, giving the Lady Lions 1-0 advantage over the Jaguars.

SU tied the contest at 1-1 in their half of the fourth inning with Jaslyn Perrodin scoring on an UAPB throwing error.

UAPB broke the tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Lady Lions plating five runs in the inning for the 6-1 final.

The Lady Lions will return to action on tomorrow, April 29 in a 9 a.m. doubleheader at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex in their final contests of the season against Southern University.
