#UAPBSoftball: Lady Lions Roll Past Mississippi Valley State in Doubleheader Sweep

ITTA BENA, Miss. — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, sweeping Mississippi Valley State in a doubleheader with convincing 10–1 and 11–3 victories.
With the sweep, UAPB improved to 8-13 on the season, using a combination of explosive offense, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching to control both games from start to finish.

Game 1: Early Explosion Powers 10–1 Win
The Lady Lions came out swinging in the opener, plating four runs in the first inning and never relinquishing control in a run-rule victory.

Danika Bryant (1-2) led the way in the circle, tossing five innings of one-hit ball while striking out six.

At the plate, Lyric Perry set the tone with a perfect 2-for-2 performance, including a home run, a walk, and three RBIs. Ariana Gonzalez added two triples and an RBI, while Kiya Jones chipped in with a double and an RBI.

UAPB continued to apply pressure in the middle innings before closing out the game in the fifth.


Game 2: Six-Run Third Inning Seals Sweep
In the nightcap, UAPB used a six-run third inning to break the game open and secure the 11–3 win.

Ariana Gonzalez led the offensive surge with four RBIs, while Allyncia King went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Ryen Gaddis added an RBI triple as part of a 14-hit performance.

In the circle, Kamea Seunarine (2-2) earned the win, while Traelen Humphrey delivered 3.2 shutout innings in relief to shut the door.

After Mississippi Valley State cut the lead to 4–3, the Lady Lions responded with their biggest inning of the day, scoring six runs to take full control.
