Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (April 25) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team picked up a pair of wins over LSU-Alexandria today with the Lady Lions defeating the Generals, 1-0 in game one and 8-7 in game two, here Tuesday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex.

In game one, both teams finished with four hits apiece in the contest.

Tonnay Hawkins finished the contest with two hits to lead UAPB, while LSUA had four players to finish with one hit apiece to lead the Generals.Â

Angelique Ramos (7-8) picked up the win for UAPB. She went the distance, allowing four hits and striking out two in seven innings of work.
Â
Marci West (19-5) received the loss for the Generals. She gave up four hits, one earned run and struck out eight in six innings of work.
Â
UAPB scored the only run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth inning with Hawkins scoring on a
Paige Garcia double to left center, for the 1-0 final.
Â
In game two, UAPB pounded out 10 hits, whereas LSUA finished with 14.

The Lady Lions had four players to finish with two hits apiece in Hawkins,
Ta'Lyn Moody,
Alexandria Taylor and
Monique Nikolao.

LSUA was paced by Danelle Billings with a team high three hits to lead the Generals.
Â
Karia Beth Hill (8-13) received the win for the Lady Lions in game two. In her outing in the circle, Hall gave up 14 hits, six earned runs and struck out five in seven innings of work.

Kasey Cazares (6-1) received the loss for the Generals. She gave up six hits and struck out one in one and two-third innings of relief. Madison Resch the LSUA starter saw five innings of action as she gave up four hits, two earned runs and struck out five in the 21 batters she faced.

LSUA jumped out to a 2-0 lead with the General plating one run in the top of the second and another in the top of the third inning.
Â
UAPB tied the contest at 2-2 in the bottom of the third with a Moody triple scoring Hawkins. Then Moody would score on the same play, by beating the throw home.

LSUA made the score 7-2 as the General plated four runs in the top of the fourth inning and another in the top of the seventh inning.
Â
The Lady Lions bats would come alive in the bottom of the seventh inning with UAPB plating six runs on five hits and one error.Â
Both Hall and
Lydia Mitchell would score on a Moody single up the middle. Then both Moody and
Shanice Akins would score on an Alex Taylor triple to right field.  Taylor would then score on a
Monique Nikolao single.   Nikolao would then give the Lady Lions the victory as she scored on a Hall single up the middle for the 8-7 win.
