Box Score PRAIRIE VIEW, TEXAS (April 14) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team used a six-run second inning to propel to an 8-7 win over Prairie View A&M, here Friday afternoon at PVAMU Softball Field.
 
UAPB recorded 12 hits in the contest with both Paige Garcia and Maria Aguilar finished with three hits to lead the Lady Lions.  In addition, Garcia recorded a homer in the second inning.
 
PVAMU also finished the contest with 12 hits with Amanda Ford finishing with a team high three hits to lead the Lady Panthers.
 
Angelique Ramos (5-8) received the win for the Lady Lions. She gave up 12 hits, seven earned runs and struck out one in the 12 innings of work.
 
Ashley Higgins (10-10) received the loss of PVAMU.  In her outing, Higgins gave up 12 hits, eight earned runs and struck out two in seven innings of work.
 
UAPB jumped out to a 6-0 lead with the Lady Lions plating six runs in their half of the second inning. 
 
The Lady Panthers plated one run in their half of the third and fourth inning to cut UAPB's leads to 6-2.
 
UAPB increased their lead to 7-2 with the Lady Lions pushing across a run in the top of the sixth inning. 
 
PVAMU would the plate four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut UAPB's leads to 7-6.
 
UAPB pushed their lead to 8-6 with a run in the top of the seventh inning. 
 
PVAMU would then plate a run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the 8-7 final.
