Box Score GRAMBLING, La. (March 31) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team won their third straight with a 6-2 win over Grambling State, here Friday afternoon at Lady Tiger Field.
UAPB finished the contest with 11 hits with Tonay Hawkins, Ta'Lynn Moody and
Monique Nikolao, all finishing with two hits apiece to lead the Lady Lions.
GSU finished the contest with six hits with six Lady Tigers having six player to finish with one hit apiece.
Angelique Ramos received the win for the Lady Lions. She went the distance, allowing six hits, one earned runs and striking out two in seven innings of work.
Caitlin McDowell took the loss for the Lady Tigers. She gave up 11 hits, four earned runs and struck out two in her seven inning of work.
UAPB jumped out to a 3-0 lead with the Lady Lions plating one run in the top of the second inning and two in the top of the third inning.
GSU pushed across a run in the bottom of the third inning to cut UAPB's lead to 3-1.
The Lady Lions increased their lead to 5-1 with UAPB plating two runs in the top of the fourth inning.
GSU scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, while UAPB pushed across a run in the top of the sixth inning for the 6-2 final.
