Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (March 23) - Alcorn State held on for a 6-4 win over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team here Thursday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex.

UAPB finished the contest with nine hits, while ASU finished with five.

The Lady Lions was led by
Tonnay Hawkins and
Ta'Lyn Moody with two hits each, while both Sametria Collins and Taylor Hughes punched out to hits apiece to lead the Lady Braves.

Robin Harrison (3-4) picked up the win for ASU. She gave up nine hits, two earned runs and struck out five in seven innings of work.

Angelique Ramos received the loss for UAPB. She pitched seven innings, allowing five hits, five earned runs and struck out three in the 34 batters she faced.

ASU jumped out to a 3-0 lead with the Lady Braves scoring one run in the top of the first and two run in the top of the second inning.

Moody cut ASU's lead to 2-1 with her single up the middle scoring
Karia Beth Hall in the bottom of the second inning.

ASU increased their lead to 6-1 with a three-run homerun by Jessica Crum in the top of the fourth inning.

The Lady Lions would plate three runs in their half of the fifth inning with both
Paige Garcia and
Alexandria Taylor scoring on an ASU throwing error. Then
Monique Nikolao would score on a passed ball for the 6-4 final.
