Box Score CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 24) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team came up short in a 9-6 loss to the University of Louisiana-Monroe, here Friday afternoon at Farris Field.

Both teams finished the contest with 11 hits apiece.

UAPB (2-9) was led by
Tonnay Hawkins with three hits in four at-bats and scoring three runs, while both
Ta'Lyn Moody and
Monique Nikolao finished with two hits each for UAPB.

ULM (9-4) had three players to finish with two hits each in Sydney McKay, Sami Blleaudeau and Samantha Agamaite.

Sydney Wader (1-1) received the win for ULM. She pitched five innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs and striking out five in the 24 batters she faced. Paige Porter for the Warhawks pitched two innings in relief, allowing four hits, two earned runs and striking out three in the 10 batters she faced.

Karia Beth Hall (1-7) the UAPB starter pitched one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs in the 12 batters she faced.Â
Angelique Ramos pitched five and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing seven hits, and three earned runs in the 24 batters she faced.

UAPB took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a
Paige Garcia two-run homer over the right center wall.

In their half of the second inning, the Warhawks plated six runs to take a 6-2 lead over the Lady Lions. ULM would then plate one run in the top of the fourth inning to increase their lead to 7-2.

UAPB plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Nikolao triple scoring both Garcia and Hawkins to cut ULM's lead to 7-4. Â

The Lady Lions plated two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Moody triple scoring both Hawkins and
Shanice Akins, cut the Warhawks' lead to 7-6.

ULM plated two runs in their half of the seventh inning for the 9-6 final.
