Box Score RUSTON,La. (Feb. 10) - Missouri State handed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team an 8-0 loss in five innings in their second contest of the Louisiana Tech Softball Tournament, here Friday afternoon at the Louisiana Tech Softball Complex.
 
MSU (1-0) finished the contest with nine hits with both Erika Zimmer and Bethany Sullinger finishing with two hits each to lead the Bears.
 
UAPB (1-1) finished the contest with one hit with Tonnay Hawking colleting the Lady Lions' only hit of the contest.
 
Kaitlin Beason (1-0) got the win for the Bears.  She pitched five innings, allowing one hits and striking out four in the 17 batters she faced.
 
Angelique Ramos (0-1) toed the rubber for UAPB as she gave up nine hits and seven earned runs in her four innings in the circle.
 
MSU jumped out to a 5-0 lead as the Bears scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning.  The Bears increased their lead in the bottom of the third to 7-0 with MSU plating two runs in the inning.  MSU scored their final run of the contest in the bottom of the fourth inning invoking the eight-run run after five innings of play.
