Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (May 6) - In their final game of the regular season the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a 7-5 decision to Grambling State, here Friday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex.

UAPB finished the contest with 11 hits, whereas GSU tallied nine.

Both
Maria Aguilar and
Monique Nikolao finished the contest with three hits apiece to lead the Lady Lions from the plate.

GSU was paced by both Mercedes Williams and Tiffany Doss from the plate as they both finished with two hits each.

Karia Hall (3-7) received the loss for the Lady Lions. She pitched three innings, allowing four this, four earned runs and striking out four in the 15 batters she faced. Hailey Forbes the Lady Lion starter gave five hits, three earned runs and struck out two in four innings of work.Â

Alexus Brown (1-17) got the win for the Lady Tigers.  She gave up 11 hits, five earned runs and struck out one in seven innings of work.

Sydney Crossett gave the Lady Lions a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as she scored on a
Delya Jackson single up the middle.

GSU plated three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.

UAPB cut GSU's lead to 3-2 in the bottom of third inning on an Aguilar double to left center scoring Nikolao.

The Lady Lions regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with Nikolao scoring on a Garcia double to left field. Then Garcia would score on a Taylor fielder's choice, giving UAPB a 4-3 lead over GSU.

GSU regained the lead in the top of the seventh inning with the Lady Tigers plating four runs to take a 7-4 lead.

UAPB scratched across one more run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the 7-5 finale.
