UAPB DROPS TWIN BILL TO CHRISTIAN BROTHERS

Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (April 6) -  The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a doubleheader to Christian Brothers University with the Buccaneers winning game one, 10-4 and blanking the Lady Lions, 10-0 in game two.
 
In the first game, UAPB finished the contest with seven hits, whereas CBU tallied 12.
 
The Lady Lions had three players to finish with two hits apiece in Tonnay Hawkins, Kayla Reap and Monique Nikolao.
 
Olivia Parsels led the Buccaneers from the plate with three hits in four hits and scoring one run.
 
Jenna Cotter received the win for the CBU.  She pitched three innings, allowing one hit and one earned run in the three innings of relief.  Sierra Anderson started the contest for CBU as she pitched four innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs and striking out two.
 
Hailey Forbes took the loss for the Lady Lions.  She pitched six and one-third innings, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs in the 32 batters she faced.
 
UAPB scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead on a Maria Aguilar double to left center scoring both Kayla Reap and   Hawkins.
 
CBU tied the contest at 2-2 in their half of the third inning with Koury scoring on an Amber Johnson single.  Johnson would then score on an Oyhenhart single.
 
UAPB took a 4-2 lead with the Lady Lions plating one run in the bottom of the third inning and another in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
CBU eight runs in the top of the seventh inning for the 10-4 finale.
 
It was all CBU in game two with the Buccaneers scoring 10 runs on 13 hits in five inning for the 10-0 win.
 
CBU finished the contest with 13 hits, whereas UAPB finished with three.
 
Both Oyhenart and Maddi Welch finished with three hits each to lead the Buccaneers.
 
Reap, Aguilar and Sydney Crossett finished with one hit each to lead the Lady Lions.
 
Cotter got the win in game two.  She pitched five innings, allowing three hits and striking out two.
 
Karia Hall received the loss for UAPB as she gave up nine hits, six earned runs and striking out one in the two innings of work.
