Box Score HOUSTON (April 3) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a doubleheader to Texas Southern with the Lady Tigers pulling out a 6-5 win in game on in eight innings and blanking the Lady Lions, 8-0 in game two.

In game one, UAPB finished the contest with nine hit, while TSU recorded 11.

Kayla Reap led UAPB from the plate with two hits in four at-bats and scoring one run.Â

Chanler Powell paced TSU as she went two-for three from the plate, scoring one runs and driving in one.

Jasmine Fulmore received the win for TSU. Fulmore pitched three and two-third innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and striking out four in relief. Tyra Williams the TSU starter pitched four and one-third innings, allowing six hits, three earned runs and striking out three.

Hailey Forbes received the loss for the Lady Lions, allowing four hits, one earned run and striking out four in the four and two-third innings of work.Â
Brianna Young, the Lady Lions starter pitched three innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs in her outing.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead with TSU plating two runs in their half of the first and the third inning.Â

UAPB plated their first run of the contest on a Young single scoring Taylor, TSU's lead to 4-1.Â

TSU increased their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Smith homer, giving the Lady Tigers a 5-1 lead.

The UAPB offense erupted in the top of the fifth inning with the Lady Lions scoring three runs to cut TSU's lead to 5-4. Reap scored the Lady Lions first run on the inning on a
Sydney Crossett bases loaded hit-by-pitch. Aguilar then scored on passed ball and Garcia scoring on a TSU error.

Lauren Rodriguez got the win for TSU. She pitched five innings, allowing three hits and striking out two.

Karia Hall, received the loss for the Lady Lions. She pitched four inning, allowing six hits, two earned runs and striking out one in 23 batters she faced.
