Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (March 12) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a doubleheader today to Austin Peay with the Governors winning game one, 8-3 and game two 10-6, here Saturday afternoon at Cheryl Holt Field.

In game one, UAPB finished the contest with nine hits with both
Kayla Reap and
Misty Callas finishing with two hits apiece to lead the Lady Lions.

APSU tallied 11 hits in the contest with Danielle Liermann garnering three hits to lead the Governors.

Autumn Hanners (2-5) received the win for APSU as she pitched five innings, allowing seven hits, and three earned runs and striking out seven in the 26 batters she faced. Also making an appearance in the circle for the Governors was Natalie Ayala, who pitched two innings, allowing two hits and striking out one in the eight batters she faced.

Briana Young (2-6) received the loss for UAPB as she pitched five and two-third innings in relief, allowing six hits and two earned runs in the 23 batters she faced, while Hailey Forbes made the start for the Lady Lions, allowing five hits, and five earned runs in the eight batters she faced.

The Governors scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 5-0 lead.

UAPB cut into APSU's lead in their half of the second inning, with Karia Hall scoring on an Alex Downing single to the right side, cutting the Governors' lead to 5-1.

APSU increased their lead to 6-1 on a Liermann double scoring Kacy Acree in the bottom of the second inning.

UAPB pushed across to more runs in their half of the fifth inning on a
Monique Nikolao two-run homer to left center, cutting APSU's lead to 6-3.

The Governors added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the 8-3 finale in game one.

In game two, UAPB finished the contest with eight hits, while APSU finished with nine.

Both
Paige Garcia and
Makayla Hunter finished with two hits each to lead the Lady Lions, while both Chandler Groves and Alexis Hill both finished with two hits each to lead the Governors.

Allie Blackwood (2-0) received the win for APSU as she gave up six hits, and four earned runs and striking out five in five innings of relief. Sidney Hooper made the start for the Governors with her giving up two hits and two earned runs and striking out one in two innings of work.

Hunter (2-2) received the loss for UAPB as she pitched four innings, allowing nine hits and four earned runs and striking out one in the 26 batters she faced. Also making an appearance in the circle for the Lady Lions was Karia Hall, who pitched two scoreless innings in the 10 batters she faced.

APSU scored three runs in the bottom of the first innings to take a 3-0 lead.

UAPB cut APSU's lead to 3-2 with the Lady Lions scoring two runs in the top of the second inning. Garcia led of the innings with a homer over the centerfield wall, scoring the Lady Lions' first run. Then Hunter would scoring on a
Sydney Crossett fielder choice.

The Governors added to their lead in the bottom of the second inning on a two-run homer by Groves and a triple by Liermann scoring Acree. Then Liermann would scoring on an UAPB throwing error to give APSU a 7-2 lead.

APSU pushed their lead to 9-2 with the Governors scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Lady Lions plated four runs in their half of the fifth inning with
Alexandria Taylor scoring on Garcia double.  The both Garcia and
Maria Aguilar scoring on a Hunter single down the left field line, followed by a Crossett fielder's choice scoring
Delya Jackson, cutting APSU's lead to 9-6.
