Box Score CONROE, Ark. (March 23) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff dropped a 5-0 decision to Alabama State in their game of the 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference Softball Rounds, here Monday evening at the Scrap Yard Softball Complex.
 
In the contest, UAPB finished with five hits, while ASU finished with 12.
 
The Lady Lions had five players to finish with a hit each for UAPB, whereas ASU had four players finished two hits apiece for the Lady Hornets.
 
Melissa Christmann (4-7) received the win for ASU, allowing five hits and striking out five in five innings in the circle. 
 
Makayla Hunter (0-8) received the loss for UAPB, allowing four hits, three earned run and walked one in three innings of work.  Shanice Murry pitched four innings in relief, allowing eight hits, two earned runs and striking out three in the 20 batters she faced.
 
ASU plated two runs in the top of the second inning on an Alexis Johnson double to center field scoring Jenna Thorne.  Then Johnson scored on a Kendall Core single the left side, giving the Lady Hornets a 2-0 lead.
 
Brittney Wilson added to the Lady Hornets lead in the top of the second inning as she scored on a passed ball, giving ASU a 3-0 lead.
 
The Lady Hornets plated two more runs for the 5-0 win as they scored a run in the top of the sixth and another in the top of the seventh inning.
