Oklahoma Down UAPB In Doubleheader

Normal, Okla. (Feb. 28) - The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Softball Team dropped a doubleheader to the University of Oklahoma with the Sooners blanking the Lady Lions, 10-0 in game one and defeating the Lady Lions, 35-1 in game two, here Friday afternoon at Marita Hynes Stadium.

UAPB combined for four hits in the two games, while OU combined for 33 hits in the two contests.

In game one, the Lady Lions, where led by both Tiressa Jacobs and Maria Aguilar as they both finished with one hit each for UAPB , while both Paige Garcia and Jasmine Hardwick garnered a hit a piece for the Lady Lions in game two.
In game one Lacie Sutterfield (1-5) received the loss for the Lady Lions in game one as she gave up nine hits, five earned runs and striking out one in the four innings of work, while Alexsis McCain (0-2) took the loss in game two, allowing nine hits and six earned runs in one inning of work.

Leslie Miller (2-0) received the win for OU in game one as she pitched three innings allowing two hits and striking out two in the 10 batters she faced, while Taylor Dewbery (2-0) got the win for the Sooners in game two, allowing two hits, one earned run in the one and two –third innings of work.

UAPB broke their scoring drought in the top of the third inning in game two with a Hardwrick homer to left field.

The Golden Lions will return to action on Saturday, March 1 against Oklahoma State in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at Marita Hynes Stadium.
