Grambling, La.- In SWAC western division softball action, the University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff Lady Lions fought it out against the Lady Tigers of Grambling State University. The Lady Lions won two games on the first day double header, 9-3 in game one and 7-2 in the second game.

Heather Leigh, Tiressa Jacobs, and Kelsey Ridgeway all registered two hits; as UAPB tallied seven hits. Ridgeway also recorded two runs and four RBI's to her teams efforts today. Lacie Sutterfield was credited with her eight win of the season.
In double dip, Leigh, Sutterfield, Ridgeway, Jasmine Hardwirck, and Emilee Gwyn all went 2-for-4 accounting for 10 of the Lady Lions 11 hits. UAPB out hit GSU 11-5, to close the day one double header. Sutterfield was also awarded the game two victory.
“The girls fought throughout both games. It didn't matter what the score was; they played as if it was their last game”, said head coach
Tiffany Ansley after sweeping the double header.
UAPB scored seven runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 9-2 win over GSU, completing a weekend sweep.
Leigh and Jacobs had three hits apiece to lead the Lady Lions. Jacobs was 3-for-4 with a triple, stolen base and an RBI. Leigh also scored a run for UAPB.
Ridgeway and Sutterfield also had two hits each. Ridgeway also had a double and a pair of RBIs, while Sutterfield also drove in two runs. Sutterfield was also the winning pitcher. She combined with Leigh to hold GSU to only two hits.
“We wanted to keep that same mentality on Sunday and have it continue throughout the rest of season", added Ansley.
