Prairie View, Tex.- In SWAC western division softball action, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions added to their win total by sweeping the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University in a double header weekend wrap-up.

In game one the Lady Lions; in come back fashion, won 9-7. PVAM got out to an early 5-0 lead. But UAPB answered back with runs in the third and fourth innings to close to score to 5-4. By adding two runs in the fifth the Lady Panther's pushed their lead to 7-4.

The Lady Lions weren't finished as they bust out the seventh inning with five runs to close-out game 1, 9-7. Delya Jackson, Alexis McCain and Emilee Gywn all went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Lions. Heather Leigh was credited with the complete game victory, striking out five batters in the process.

In game two, the Lady Lions didn't waste any time grabbing the lead from the Lady Panthers after they took a 1-0 lead into the second inning. UAPB scored five runs in their half of the second inning on five hits.

In the fourth inning the Lady Lions would blow the game wide open by posting eight runs to give the game its final 13-3. Nikole Frazier went 2-for-3, with 4 RBI's and two runs scored. Tiressa Jacobs also went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's. Lacie Sutterfield was credited with the complete game victory going five innings, while striking out five.

“We made adjustments quickly and we never turned back. We look to take this momentum to the next weekend as well as the tournament in May”, said head coach Tiffany Ansley.
