Prairie View, Tex. – On Friday, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions softball team took the diamond against the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University in a SWAC western division weekend series. The Lady lions won the first game of the series 4-2.

The Lady Lions scored runs in the first and fifth innings, while managing nine hits. Alexis McCain was 2-for-4 at the plate, Lacie Sutterfield and Emilee Gywn both were 2-for-3 for the Lady Lions.

PV's Brenic Woods was 3-for-3 in plate appearances. Sutterfield was credited with her 12^th victory of the year, while Cally Falls suffered the loss for the Lady Panthers.

Both clubs will meet on Saturday for a double header round-up with the first pitch scheduled for 12 PM.
