#UAPBMensHoops: Golden Lions Roar into Prairie View Seeking to Stay Perfect in SWAC Play

Jaquan Scott led the way with 18 points and four rebounds in the win over Texas Southern
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's basketball team looks to continue its historic start to Southwestern Athletic Conference play as the Golden Lions travel to face the Prairie View A&M Panthers on tonight at the William J. Nicks Building. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT, with live coverage available on SWAC TV.

UAPB enters the contest as one of just three teams in the conference that remain undefeated in league play, as nine of the SWAC's 12 teams have already suffered two or more conference losses. The Golden Lions improved to 6–10 overall and 3–0 in SWAC action following a strong 74–66 road victory over the Texas Southern Tigers on Saturday night.

The win at Texas Southern showcased a balanced offensive effort, with four Golden Lions reaching double figures. Jaquan Scott led the way with 18 points and four rebounds, while Quion Williams delivered a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 16 points, a game-high 17 rebounds, and eight assists. Ramel Lloyd Jr. provided a spark off the bench with 13 points, two rebounds, and a steal, while Milhan Charles rounded out the scoring surge with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Williams continues to establish himself among the nation's elite, ranking as one of only two players in NCAA Division I to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks per game through games played on Jan. 11. His consistency on both ends of the floor has been a key factor in UAPB's early conference success.

UAPB claimed the most recent meeting between the two programs, earning a 75–64 road victory over Prairie View A&M during the 2024–25 season, and will look to replicate that success on Monday night.

The Panthers enter the matchup coming off a narrow 70–69 victory over the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. Prairie View A&M was led by Tai'Reon Joseph, who scored 23 points in the win.
