PINE BLUFF, AR. — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's basketball team has earned the No. 6 seed in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Tournament after defeating Alcorn State on the road in the regular season finale to secure a top-six position in the 12-team conference bracket.

The Golden Lions finished tied for fifth place in the SWAC standings, marking the program's highest conference finish since the 2018–19 season.

UAPB will open tournament play against No. 3 seed Southern University in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, March 12 at 8:30 p.m. (CT) at Gateway Center Arena in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The matchup will be streamed live on the SWAC TV Network.

With a victory, the Golden Lions would advance to the SWAC Tournament semifinals on Friday, March 13 at 8:30 p.m., facing the winner of the corresponding quarterfinal matchup.

The SWAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination event featuring both the conference's men's and women's teams. Quarterfinal and semifinal games will stream live across the ESPN platforms.
