UAPB Men's and Women's Basketball Hosts Campers at Annual Future Lions Free Youth Camp
PINE BLUFF, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's and women's basketball programs came together earlier this week to host their annual Future Lions Free Youth Basketball Camp, sponsored by Gatorade, welcoming over 150 young athletes to H.O. Clemmons Arena for a day filled with learning, inspiration, and fun.

Led by Men's Head Coach Solomon Bozeman and Women's Head Coach Erica Leak, the camp provided local youth the opportunity to sharpen their basketball fundamentals while engaging with Golden Lion coaches, staff, and players in a supportive, energetic environment.

Campers received hands on instruction in ball handling, shooting, defensive techniques, and teamwork through a series of interactive drills and games designed to both teach and inspire. The event focused not only on basketball but also on building character, confidence, and community pride.

"This camp is one of the most important things we do each year," said Coach Leak. "It's not just about teaching the game, it's about investing in the next generation and showing these kids that UAPB is here for them, on and off the court."

Coach Bozeman echoed that sentiment, adding: "We love seeing the excitement on their faces and giving them a glimpse of what it means to be a student-athlete. These are our Future Lions."

The camp was made possible thanks to the generous support of UAPB alumni, friends, and corporate partners, who provided giveaways such as backpacks, school supplies, and hydration products. Southern Edge Eatery also graciously sponsored lunch for all attendees, ensuring every participant had a meal during the full-day experience.

The enthusiasm from both campers and coaches highlighted UAPB's ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth development, laying a strong foundation for the next generation of Golden Lions.
