#UAPBFootball: Golden Lions Promoted OL Coach Steve Wallace To Run Game Coordinator

Pine Bluff, AR.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff head football coach Alonzo Hampton announced the promotion of Steve Wallace to run game coordinator. Wallace will continue to coach the offensive line, while serving as the run game coordinator.

Wallace joined the coaching staff in 2023 and helped develop many of UAPB's run game schemes, allowing 5 Golden Lions Rushers to go for over 100 yards in a game.

Wallace coached HBCU All-American, 1st Team All SWAC, HBCU Legacy Bowl, FCS Bowl, Tropical Bowl, and HBCU Pigskin attendee Ryan Atkins. Through Wallace's mentorship, Atkins was also able to become the Offensive Team Captain his senior year.

Wallace's promotion came through when he stepped in as interim offensive coordinator for the last two and a half games. He helped the Golden Lions produce 802 yards in eight quarters, 80% in the Red Zone, and Score on the first possession of a game, including a come from behind 35-34 win over Texas Southern after being down 22 heading into the fourth quarter.
