PINE BLUFF, AR. – In front of more than 11,000 fans dressed in black and gold, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team put on a show Saturday afternoon, storming to a 79–10 victory over Westgate Christian in the annual Homecoming Game at Simmons Bank Field, which tied the most points scored on an opponent since 1990 against Miles College (79-6).
Under clear skies and perfect football weather, the Golden Lions erupted early—scoring on every drive of the first quarter to build a 35–0 lead and never looking back.
The opening spark came on special teams, when Kareem Burke electrified the crowd with a 68-yard punt return touchdown just two minutes into the contest. From there, UAPB unleashed an offensive onslaught.
- Christian Peters connected with D'Avery Robinson for a 34-yard touchdown.
- Jaylen Jennings dashed 69 yards for another score.
- DJ Stevenson powered in from six yards out before later tossing a 49-yard touchdown to Chris Hicks Jr. to close a perfect first quarter.
Westgate briefly responded with a 16-yard touchdown pass from Allen Rainey to Kirim Dallas, but UAPB quickly reasserted control. Tysan Robbins added a 14-yard rushing touchdown, and later launched a 57-yard strike to Robinson for his second score of the game. The defense forced a safety to give the Golden Lions a commanding 51–10 halftime advantage.
The second half began with another explosion as Bryant Sanchez returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, igniting the crowd once more. On the ensuing possession, Kristian Gammage intercepted a pass and sprinted 45 yards for a pick-six. Dae'Trell Cooper (10-yard run) and Garrison Davis (2-yard run) closed the scoring to seal the 79–10 final.
UAPB's offense was unstoppable, piling up 579 total yards on just 49 plays, 306 rushing and 273 passing.
- Robinson led all receivers with two touchdowns, including a 57-yard bomb.
- Jennings averaged 20.0 yards per carry on five rushing attempts.
- Trey Glymph was a perfect 11-for-11 on extra points.
Defensively, the Golden Lions forced four interceptions (Gammage, Kyle Knox, Azayvonne Stribling, Akeem Rahsaan) and added two sacks, while Knox also recorded a blocked punt.
From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, UAPB dominated every facet of the game, scoring eleven touchdowns, forcing multiple turnovers, and controlling the tempo from start to finish to secure their most explosive performance of the season.
