#UAPBHoops Hits The Road In Mississippi For Two Game Road Swing

PINE BLUFF, AR. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's and women's basketball team will hit the road for a two-game road swing, visiting Alcorn St. today in Lorman, MS., and Jackson St., Monday, February 6, at 5:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. CT. 
 
The matchup versus the Braves this evening tip-off at 2 p.m. CT, followed by the men's game at 4:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on audio on The Deltaplex 99.3, The Beat, with live stats available

The Lady Lions are coming into today's matchup on a three-game winning streak and peaking at the right time in conference play. UAPB won the last two matchups against the Lady Braves, winning 64-41 and 77-57 last season.  
 
UAPB is coming off a 69-55 win over Mississippi Valley St. at home in the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
 
The Lady Lions had three players score in double figures, led by 
Maya Peat, who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Coriah Beck added 15 points and five assists, and Jelissa Reese chipped in as well with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
 
UAPB took advantage of great ball movement in last week game, piling up 20 assists on 27 made field goals. Individually, Beck lent a helping hand the most for the Lady Lions with five assists, and Raziya Potter also contributed with four assists of her own.
 
UAPB defense held Mississippi Valley State shooters to only 38.6 percent from the field, including 20 percent from three-point range.
 
On the offensive side, the Lady Lions rank third in the SWAC conference in scoring, averaging (65.7) ppg and third in assists per game (12.74) apg. 
 
On the defensive side, UAPB ranks first in team combined rebounds, averaging (40.6) rpg, and third in block shots per game, averaging (4.00) bpg. 
 
Juniors Maori Davenport and Maya Peats rank 5th and 6th in the conference rebounds per game, (6.8) and (6.3). 
 
The Lady Braves are coming off a 58-52 win against Grambling St., led by Destiny Brown, who averages (12.7) ppg. 
 
On the men's side, the Golden Lions come into this matchup one of the hottest mid-major teams in the country, winning six of the last seven games and defeating Mississippi Valley St. 88-72 at home in front of a packed arena.
 
The Golden Lions had three players score in double figures, led by 
Kylen Milton
, who had 23 points and six assists. Shaun Doss Jr. added 22 points, and Caleb Stokes helped with 11 points off the bench.

UAPB grabbed 31 rebounds in last week game compared to Mississippi Valley State's 23, led by seven boards from Trejon Ware.
 
The Golden Lions' defense ranks second in the conference in defense, giving up only (68.2) ppg., ranks first in holding opponents' 3-point FG percentage (0.2999), third in steals per game, averaging (8.27), and fourth in combined team rebounds, averaging (35.7).  
 
Shaun Doss leads the conference in scoring, averaging (17.2) ppg., and fourth in FG percentage (.401), followed by Kylen Milton, who ranks second in the conference in assists, averaging (4.6) apg.  

The Braves are coming off a 63-60 win against Grambling St., led by Dominic Brewton, who averages (13.9) ppg.
