11/7/2022 10:30:00 AM

PINE BLUFF, AR. – It's time! The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff opens its highly anticipated 2022-23 season Monday in Fort Worth, Texas at No. 14 TCU. The tip-off from Schollmaier Arena is at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2007, where the Horn Frogs won the last matchup 75-61.

The Golden Lions roster adds several new faces to the mix for the season, but welcome back two returners from the 2021-22 squad.  Back for the black and gold are sophomore guard Kylon Milton, who scored a (single game school record) 42 points against Alcorn St. and senior guard Brahm Harris, a big guard who can rebound.

Five talented freshmen, which includes guards Zach Reinhart (PHS Academy), Kuron Coleman (Central Pointe Christian), Rafael Martinez(Williston Northampton), Samuel Da Cruz(Minas), forward Robert Lewis (Cardinal Ritter Prep), and eight transfers will make up the rest of the roster this season.

Guard Shaun Doss Jr. (UAPB/SUIE), former (SWAC First Team All-Conference) and forward Chris Greene (Cleveland St.) make up a duo of graduate transfers set to make an impact both on the court and from a leadership standpoint.  Forward AC Curry (Otero JC), Caleb Stokes (SAU Tech), and guard Orion Virden (Collin CC) represent a trio of junior college transfers with valuable minutes to add to the depth of the team.

Guards Rashad Williams (Saint Louis), Trejon Ware (Arkansas Baptist), and forward Ismael Plet (Oral Roberts) boast experience and are expected to play big roles this season for the Golden Lions.

TCU returns a number of key pieces, which includes last year all five starters from last year's NCAA Tournament Team.  The Horn Frogs are led by Mike Miles Jr., who leads the team with averaging 14.6 points per game.
