#UAPBSoftball Host Senior Day At Home Against Grambling St.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team will wrap up their last home games of the season as they host Grambling St. for a three-game SWAC series at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex. Sunday's doubleheader will also mark Senior Day, as UAPB gets set to honor four departing student-athletes due to graduation.

UAPB Senior Day recognition begins at approximately 12:40 p.m. The first pitch for Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m., followed by game two. Monday's game will begin at 1 p.m.

This is the first meeting between both squads this season and one of the two regular conference games for UAPB before the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament in May.

The Lady Lions recently finished a three game series on the road at Southern, led by senior Shanice Akins, who leads the team at the plate batting .348 and tied for seventh in the conference with two home runs. Freshman Samaria Jackson also tied for seventh in the conference with two home runs, batting .211.

Grambling St. is coming off a midweek 8-1 defeat to Louisiana Tech. The Lady Tigers is led by India Wells at the plate, batting .300.
