The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team makes final preparations before heading to Conway, Arkansas, for two consecutive weekends at the UCA Adam Brown Tournament at the Farris Softball Complex. 

The Lady Lions begin the tournament, Friday, March 5, taking on Stephen F. Austin at 10 a.m. and UCA at 2:30 p.m. On day two of the tournament, UAPB will match up against UCA at 10:45 a.m. and Mississippi Valley St. at 4:45 p.m.

The Lady Lions' first matchup will be the first meeting between Stephen F. Austin and UAPB softball programs.  UAPB were scheduled to play UCA last weekend, but the game was canceled due to inclement weather in the area.  

"We're finding the right niche with our ball club," said UAPB head coach Michael Bumpers. 

"With only two days of practice before our last tournament we're still in the process of getting our players acclimated to the pace of college play, especially the freshmen."
