HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's and men's basketball continue on the road Monday in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Alabama A&M.

The Lady Lions (2-12 overall, 1-7 SWAC) battled tough on the road before Alabama State pulled away in the final 15 minutes for the win.
UAPB had five players score in double figures, led by
Trasity Totten's season-high 18 points along seven rebounds.
Tyler Pyburn added 14 points and six rebounds, while
Ashlynn Green scored 11 points.
Khadijah Brown and Kaila Walker each scored 10 for the Lady Lions.
Alabama A&M (6-2, 4-1) has only lost to defending champion Jackson State, as the Bulldogs have won four straight games in league play. AAMU is coming off an 81-43 win Saturday over Mississippi Valley State.
Dariauna Lewis (15.5 ppg / 6
th in SWAC; 11.9 rpg / 2
nd in SWAC) and Deshawna Harper (14.9 ppg / 7
th in SWAC) lead the Bulldogs.
Alabama A&M won the first meeting between the teams in Pine Bluff, 57-47, on Jan. 11.
The UAPB men once again nearly erased a big deficit in a six-point loss at Alabama St. The Golden Lions trailed by 21 points with more than nine minutes to play before a late-game rally in which they outscored ASU by 15 points down the stretch.
Joshuwan Johnson scored a team-high 17 points, along with five assists and four steals.
Jalen Lynn added 14 points off the bench and
Shaun Doss Jr. chipped in as well with 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
Alabama A&M (5-2, 3-2) is coming off a 93-58 home win over Mississippi Valley State. Jalen Johnson (17.7 ppg) and Garrett Hicks (17.1 ppg) rank third and fourth, respectively, in the SWAC in scoring.
This will be the first meeting between the men's teams this season, as the Jan. 11 contest in Pine Bluff was postponed due to Covid issues in the AAMU program.
