Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions dismantled the Grambling State University Lady Tigers 9-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference action in a make-up game at Torii Hunter Softball Complex.
The Lady Lions poured in four runs in the opening inning when
Kayla Ross generated a RBI single that brought in
Tonnay Hawkins for the first run.
Shanice Akins then laid down a RBI bunt single that allowed
Ta'Lyn Moody to touch home plate. Moments later,
Monique Nikolao produced a RBI that brought home Ross. During the next at-bat,
Dominique Humphrey hit a RBI single to left field as Akins came home to close the inning.
The Lady Tigers answered back with a run in the top of the second, but UAPBÂ responded with three additional runs in the fourth inning when
Kameron Graham smacked a RBI triple to right field as
Toni Martinez touched home plate. Moody then produced a RBI that brought home Graham. Minutes later,
Alexandria Taylor hit a sacrifice fly ball to right field that allowed Hawkins to score, increasing UAPB's lead to 7-1.
In the sixth inning, Ross got on base on a fielder's choice that allowed Hawkins to score. On the next at-bat,
Tamira Chatman doubled to center field as Taylor scored from second base, enforcing the run rule.

Juliana Dominguez (7-6) picked up the victory as she fanned one batter and allowed just one run and five hits in 6.0 innings of work while Caitlin McDowell (7-14) was awarded the loss for Grambling.Â
Hawkins finished the game 3-for-3 with three runs while teammate Moody finished 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Fellow Lady Lion Chatman finished 2-for-2 from the plate with one RBI.
UAPB (16-27, 11-6 SWAC) finishes the regular season and now awaits the final seedings for the 2018 SWACÂ Softball Tournament which kicks off on Wednesday in Montgomery, Alabama.
