Box Score 2 PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff took two out of three games over Prairie View A&M in Southwestern Athletic Conference play at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex. Game two on Senior Day finished 5-2 in favor of the Lady Lions while the rubber match ended with a 4-3 Prairie View victory to avoid the sweep.
Game 2-UAPB 5, Prairie View 2
The Lady Panthers got off to a quick start with two first inning runs, but UAPB answered back with a run in the bottom of the stanza when
Alexandria Taylor produced a RBI single to center field that brought home the senior speedster
Tonnay Hawkins.
UAPBÂ scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings when
Shanice Akins generated a RBI triple to center field that once again scored Hawkins. Taylor then got another RBI as Akins touched home plate.
Dominique Humphrey later produced a RBI single to center field as
Karia Hall scored for UAPB. With the bases loaded, Akins took a base on balls which brought in Humphrey to push the lead to 5-2.

Juliana Dominguez (6-5) picked up the win for the Golden Lions as she went the distance and struck out two batters, gave up two earned runs and seven hits in 7.0 innings of work. Vanessa Castro was credited with the loss for the Lady Panthers.
Hawkins finished 3-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored while her teammate Taylor went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Akins finished 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and one run.
As a team the Lady Lions produced eight hits while its opponent finished with seven.
Game 3 Prairie View 4, UAPBÂ 3
The Lady Lions managed to tie the game by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when
Toni Martinez got a RBI single to center field that brought in
Tamira Chatman. Martinez later scored on an error by Prairie View's short stop, then Akins generated a triple to right field that allowed Moody to score and tie the game. However, Prairie View scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning as a result of a UAPB error.
UAPB (15-24, 11-6 SWAC) pitcher
Karia Hall (3-10) was credited with the loss while Crystal Castillo got the win for Prairie View. Hall went the distance and fanned seven batters while giving up a total of three earned runs and eight hits in 7.0 innings of work.
As a team the Lady Lions had nine hits while Prairie View finished with eight.
Tay'Lyn Moody finished 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI in the loss.
