Charles Jackson buried a game-high five three pointers as he finished with 17 points, three steals, three rebounds and two assists. With the win, UAPB improves to a perfect 5-0 in conference play.
Alcorn had two players in double figures; A.J. Mosby and Yalen Reed both finished with 10 points apiece. As a team the Braves shot just 33 percent from the field while the Golden Lions (5-14, 5-0 SWAC) shot 42 percent. However, UAPB drained a total of 11 three-pointers in the game. The Braves fall to 5-14 overall and 1-5 in SWAC play.
Travon Harper chipped in with 11 points and nine boards in 30 minutes for UAPB.
The Golden Lions basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 20 as it travels to Texas to face Prairie View A&M. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at William J. Nicks Arena.
