Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (April 8) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team split a doubleheader with Texas Southern today with the Lady Tigers winning game one, 4-1 and the Lady Lions winning game two, 8-3 here Saturday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex.

UAPB finished the first contest, the Lady Lions recorded four hits with Tonnay finishing with a team high two hits.

TSU tallied nine hits with Madilynn Marek finish with a team high three hits.

Lauren Rodriguez (5-4) got the win for TSU in game one. She gave up four hits, one earned run and struck out 10 in seven innings of work.

Angelique Ramos (4-8) took the loss for the Lady Lions. She gave up nine hits, three earned runs and stuck out four in seven innings of play.

TSU jumped out to a 4-0 lead with the Lady Tigers plating four runs in the top of the fifth inning.

UAPB scored their only run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth inning

In the second game, UAPB tallied 10 hits with Hawkins recording three hits to lead the Lady Lions from the plate.

TSU finished the contest with nine hits with both Terren Vinson and Sierra Valdez finishing with a team high two hits apiece.

UAPB jumped out to a 4-0 lead with the Lady Lions pushing across two runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second and one in the bottom of the third.

TSU cut UAPB's lead to 4-1 with the Lady Tigers pushing across one run in the top of the fourth inning.

The Lady Lions would plate four run in the bottom of the fourth inning with Hawkins scoring on a bases loaded walk. Then UAPB would scoring three runs on a Nikolao bases loaded clearing single to increase their lead to 8-1.

TSU would plate two more runs in the top of the fifth inning for the 8-3 final.
