Box Score JACKSON, Miss. (Jan. 30) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped a 74-59 decision to Jackson State, here Monday night at the Lee E. Williams Assembly Center.

UAPB (5-18, 4-5 SWAC) had two players to score in double-figures with
Trent Steen leading the way with 11 points, followed by
Jaquan Lynch with 10. Steen led the Golden Lions in rebounds with five.

JSU (9-12, 5-4 SWAC) had a trio of players to score in double-figures with Yetta Specks scoring a game high 18 points to lead all-scorers, while Edric Dennis finished with 16 and Derek Roscoe with 11. Janarius Middleton led the Tigers on the boards with seven and Specks dished out a team high five assists.

In the first half, JSU led by many as 16 points with the Tigers taking a 38-22 lead into the break.

UAPB finished the first half shooting 27.3 percent (6-of-22), whereas JSU shot 50.0 percent (12-of-24).

In the second half, the Golden Lions cut JSU's lead to 61-53 on a three point play by
Travon Harper at the 4:33 mark of the half.Â

The Tigers then went on a 10-3 run to take a 72-56 lead on a pair of Derek Roscoe free throws with 49 second remaining in the contest.

Marcus Wallace would score the final basket of the contest with a three pointer with 30 second left to play in regulation for the 74-59 finale.

UAPB finished the contest shooting 37.3 percent (19-of-51), whereas JSU shot 51.2 percent (22-of-43).
