PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Jan. 21) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped their third straight in a 70-63 loss to league leading Texas Southern, here Saturday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
 
TSU (10-9, 6-0 SWAC) was led by Zach Lofton with a game high 24 points, followed by Jalan McCloud with 15 and Demontrae Jefferson with 10. Loft led the Tigers on the boards with eight.
 
UAPB (4-16, 3-3 SWAC) had a trio to score in double-figures with Trent Steen leading the way with 19 points, followed by Jaquan Lynch with 13 and JoeRandle Toliver with 10. 


The Golden Lions took a 29-26 lead into the break with UAPB finishing the first half shooting 37.0 percent.  TSU finished the half shooting 40.0 percent (8-of-20).
 
In the second half,   TSU outscored UAPB, 44-34 for the 70-63 victory.  The Golden Lions finished the contest shooting 37.3 percent (22-of-59), while the Tigers shot 47.8 percent (22-of-46).   UAPB held the rebounding margin over TSU, 37-33.
 
UAPB will return to action on Monday, January 23 in a 7:30 contest against Prairie View A&M at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
