Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 12) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Softball team dropped a doubleheader to the University of Memphis, here Tuesday afternoon at the Tigers Softball Complex.

Memphis won the first contest 11-3 and the second contest 8-0 in five innings in both games, invoking the eight-run rule.

In the first contest, UAPB tallied two hits, whereas Memphis finished with 11.

Alexandria Taylor and
Makayla Hunter both finished with one hit apiece to lead the Lady Lions.
Â
Lindsay Crowdus finished with three hits to lead the Tigers.
Â
Molly Smith (9-9) got the win for the Tigers. She did not yield a hit and struck out five in four inning in relief.

Hailey Forbes (4-12) took the loss for the Lady Lions. She pitched three innings, allowing 10 hits, seven earned runs and striking out two in the 25 batters she faced.

Memphis jumped out to a 2-0 lead with Crowdus scoring on a Lindsey Strickrod bases load walk and Hannah Harrell scoring on a Regan Hadley fielder's choice.

The Lady Lions took the lead in the top of the second inning with Hunter scoring on a
Misty Callas hit-by-pitch, followed a passed ball scoring
Sydney Crossett.  Then
Monique Nikolao would score on a Taylor fielder's choice to give UAPB, a 3-2 lead.

Memphis regained the lead in the bottom of the second inning as the Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 6-3 lead. The Tigers plated five more runs in their half of the third inning for the 11-3 win, invoking the eight-run rule.

In game two, UAPB finished with two hits, while Memphis finished with eight.

Both Taylor and Hunter finished with one hit apiece to lead the Lady Lions from the plate.

Hannah Harrell finished with three hits to lead the Tigers.

Christian Novak (2-2) received the win for Memphis. She yielded two hits and struck out eight in the five innings of work.Â

Hunter (4-4) received the loss for UAPB. She gave up eight hits, five earned runs and striking out one in two innings of work.

The Tigers plated three runs in their half of the first, four in the second and one in the third for the 8-0 finale.
