Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. (Feb. 13) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team took another one on the chin as Southern University defeated the Golden Lions, 66-58, here Saturday afternoon at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

UAPB jumped out to a 7-2 lead on
Marquis Cunningham layup at the 18:24 mark of the half.

SU regained the lead with a 13-5 run to take a 13-12 lead on a Rashad Andrews layup with 13:54 remaining in the first half.Â

UAPB went into the break trailing SU, 32-25 as
Ghiavonni Robinson nailed a three pointer as time expired to end the half.

The Golden Lions finished the first half shooting 39.1 percent (9-of-23), while SU shot 41.4 percent (12-of-29).

In the second half, SU extended their lead to 43-31 on a Chris Thomas layup at the 14:39 mark of the half. The Jaguars would then push their lead to 17 points to take a 58-41 lead on Shawn Prudhomme three pointer at the 8:10 mark.

UAPB cut SU's lead to 62-55 with a 14-5 run, capped off by a
Marcus Wallace layup with 1:09 remaining in the contest.

SU would hold for the 66-58 win over UAPB.

UAPB finished the contest shooting 42.6 percent (23-of-54), where SU shot 47.1 percent (24-of-51).

SU (17-18, 9-3 SWAC) was led by Aaron Rodgers with a team high 12 points, followed by Christopher Hyder with 10. Jared Sam led the Jaguars on the boards with five.

UAPB (6-20, 4-8 SWAC) was led by Robinson with 17, followed by Wallace with 12. Cunningham led the Golden Lions on the boards with seven.
