Box Score PHOENIX , Ariz. (Dec. 22) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball Team took it on the chin in a 89-49 loss to Grand Canyon University, here Thursday night at the GCU Arena.

UAPB (1-13) had two Golden Lions to score in double figures with
Charles Jackson scoring a team high 13 points and JoeRandle Toliver finishing with 10.  Â
Trent Steen led the team on the boards with eight.

GCU (8-5) had four players to score double-digits with DeWayne Russell scoring a game high 31 points to lead all scorers. Both Oscar Frayer and Shaq Carr finished with 18 points apiece and Gerard Martin tallied 13. Keonta Vernon led GCU on the boards with nine and Carr dished out a game high nine assists.

UAPB trailed GCU, 42-17 at the break with the Golden Lions shooting 30.8 percent (8-of-26) in the first half, while GCU shot 58.3 percent (14-of-24).

The Golden Lions finished the contest shooting 37.0 percent (20-of-54), while the Antelopes shot 56.3 (27-of-54) percent.

UAPB will return to action on Monday, January 2 against Mississippi Valley State in their Southwestern Athletic Conference home opener at the H.O. Clemmons Arena in a 7:30 p.m. start.
