Box Score DENVER, Colo. (Dec. 19) - The University of Denver handed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team their 11th straight loss with the Pioneers defeating the Golden Lions, 74-52 here Monday night at the Magness Arena.
 
UD jumped out to an 8-2 lead on Daniel Amigo layup with 15:38 to go in the first half.  The Pioneers then extended their lead to 18-4 on a Thomas Neff three pointer with 12:48 to go.
 
UAPB pulled within five with an 11-4 run to cut UD's lead to 20-15 with 7:46 remaining.
 
UD closed out the first half with a 14-6 run to take a 34-21 lead into the break.
 
The Golden Lions finished the first half shooting 34.8 percent (eight-of-23), while the Pioneers shot 40.9 percent (nine-of-22).
 
UD opened the second half with a 9-6 run to take a 43-27 lead on a Joe Rosga layup with 15:19 to go in the contest.  The Pioneers then extended their lead to 57-42 on a pair of free throws by Abiola Akintola with 8:13 left.  UD held on for the 74-52 win over UAPB.
 
The Golden Lions finished the contest shooting 44.7 percent (21-of-47), while the Pioneers shot 46.9 percent (23-of-49).
 
UAPB (1-12) was led by Ghiavonni Robinson with 12 points, while Trent Steen added seven.  Both Jaquan Lynch and Steen led the Golden Lions on the boards with five.
 
UD (7-5) was paced by Amigo with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Neff finished with 18 points respectively.  Both C.J. Bobbitt and Jake Pemberton led the assists with four each.
 
UAPB will close out their five-game road swing on Thursday, December 22 at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz., in an 8 p.m. start.
