Box Score BIRMINGHA, Ala. (Nov. 11)  - In their season opener, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped an 86-66 decision to UAB, here Friday night at Bartow Arena.
 
UAPB (0-1) had three players to score in double-figures with Ghiavonni Robinson scoring a team high 13 points, followed by Charles Jackson with 12 and JoeRandle Toliver with 11.  Devin Berry led the team on the boards with seven Jaquan Lynch led the team in assists with three.
 
UAB (1-0) had five players to finish in double-figures with Tyler Madison scoring a team high 22 points, followed by Hakeem Baxter with 15 and Chris Cokley with 14.  Rounding out the cast of double-digit performers was Javien Williams with 13 and Dirk William with 13.  Cokley led the team in rebounds with eight.
 
The Golden Lions trailed the Blazers 44-21 at the break as UAPB finished the first half shooting 17.6 percent (6-of-34), while UAB shot 46.9 percent (15-of-32).
 
UAPB outscored UAB in the second half, 45-42 as they finished the contest shooting 35.5 percent (22-of-62), while UAB shot 47.2 percent (25-of-53).
