Marquis Cunningham layup with 8:03 to go as UAPB went into the break with a 40-28 lead over GSU.

UAPB finished the first half shooting 50.0 percent (14-of-28), while GSU shot 41.7 percent (10-of-24).

GSU opened the second half with a 11-4 run to pull within four on a Deonte Hearns put back with 13:01 left to play, cutting UAPB's lead to 44-40.

UAPB countered with a 12-6 run to take a 56-46 lead on a pair of
Charles Jackson free throws with 7:38 left in the contest.

Mark Gray hits a pair of free throws with 1:10 remaining to cut UAPB's lead to 59-57, capping an 11-3 run by the Tigers.

The Golden Lions would then push their lead back to five points on a JoVaugn Love three pointer with 47 seconds left in the contest, making the score 62-57 in favor of UAPB.

UAPB finished the contest shooting 40.4 percent (21-of-52), while GSU shot 41.9 percent (18-of-43).

GSU (6-14, 3-5 SWAC) was led by Hearns with a game high 20 points, followed by Ervin Mitchell with 10, while Gray led the team in rebounds with 10.

UAPB (5-18, 3-5 SWAC) was led by Cunningham with a team high 13 points, followed by Love, Robinson and Thaddeus Handley with 11 points each. Cunningham led the Golden Lions on the boards with seven.
