Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Jan. 16)  - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball had two players to score in double-figures win a 69-55 loss to Southern University, here Saturday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
 
UAPB (3-15, 1-3 SWAC) was paced by both Thaddeus Handley and Marquis Wallace with Wallace scoring a team high 15 points and Handley finishing with 13.   Ghiavonni Robinson led team the Golden Lions on the boards with six. 
 
SU (11-7, 3-2 SWAC) had three Jaguars to scoring in double-figures with both Adrian Rodgers and Jared Sam finished with 15 points each, while Rashad Andrews finished with 12.  Sam led the Jaguars on the boards with eight.
 
The Jaguars opened the first half with a 14-7 lead on a Sam jumper with 13:54 remaining in the first quarter.
 
UAPB cut SU's lead to 21-18 with an 11-7 run on a Robinson three pointer with 6:58 to go in the half.
 
SU closed out the first half with an 11-5 run to take a 32-23 lead over UAPB into the break.
 
UAPB finished the first half shooting 36.0 percent (9-of-25), while SU shot 46.2 percent (12-of-26).
 
SU opened the second half with a with an 8-4 run to take a 40-27 lead on a pair of LaQuentin Collins free throws with 16:04 left in the half.
 
The Golden Lions used a 10-4 run to cut the Jaguars' lead to 44-37 on a Cunningham put back with 10:52 left in the contest. 
 
SU would then extend their lead to much as 17 points as the Jaguars held on to defeat the Golden Lions, 69-55.
 
UAPB finished the contest shooting 34.6 percent (18-of-52), while SU shot 44.9 percent (22-of-49).
 
The Golden Lions will return to action on Monday, January 18 as they will host Alcorn State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference contest in a 7:30 p.m. start at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
