Box Score PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Feb. 23)  - The Prairie View A&M had five players to score in double-figures as the Panthers defeated the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team 79-58  here Monday night at the William Nicks Arena.
 
UAPB (9-20, 6-9 SWAC) was paced by JoVaughn Love with a game high 22 points to lead all-scorers.  Both Thaddeus Handley and DeAndre McIntyre finished with six points each for the Golden Lions.
 
PVAMU (11-16, 9-5 SWAC) was led by Tre Hagood with a team high 17 points.  John Brisco added 14, while both Karim York and Reggis Onwukamuche finished with 11 points apiece for the Panthers and Montrael Scott with 10.
 
The Panthers scored the first six points of the contest to take a 6-0 lead with 18:13 to go in the first.
 
A McIntyre three pointer gave the Golden Lions an 18-16 lead with 10:39 to go in the first, capping an 18-10 run by the Golden Lions.
 
PVAMU countered with a 13-2 run to take a 29-18 lead on a Jacoby Green three pointer with 7:00 left in the first.
 
UAPB went into the break trailing PVAMU 42-28 with the Golden Lions finishing the first half shooting 39.3 percent (11-of-28), while PVAMU shot 56.3 percent (18-of-32).
 
The Panther opened the second half with an 11-3 run to take a 53-31 lead with 16:04 to go.
 
PVAMU extended their lead to 65-44 with 9:31 to go on a Hagood field goal.
 
UAPB finished the contest shooting 44.7 percent (21-of-47), while PVAMU shot 51.8 percent (29-of-56).
