Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Feb. 14) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped a 74-56 decision to Southern University here Saturday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
 
SU grabbed a 10-0 lead on a Keith Davis layup with 13:10 to go to start the first half of play.
 
JoVaugn Love scored the Golden Lions first field goal of the half at the 12:06 mark, cutting SU's lead to 10-2.
 
A DeAndre McIntyre three pointer pulled the Golden Lions within seven, cutting the Jaguars lead to 28-21 with 1:24 left in the half, capping a 12-6 by UAPB.
 
A Tre Lynch three pointer with three second left in the half gave the Jaguars a 31-21 lead over the Golden Lions at the half.
 
UAPB finished the first half shooting 17.9 percent (5-of-28), while SU shot 44.0 percent (11-of-25).
 
Tevin Hammond named a three pointer at the 19:23 mark of the second half to cut SU's lead to 33-24 as they would be the closes that the Golden Lions would get. 
UAPB (8-18, 5-7 SWAC) was led by Tevin Hammond with a team high 14 points, followed by Thaddeus Handley with 13 and Berry with 12.  Handley led the Golden Lions on the boards with six.
 
SU (12-14, 9-2 SWAC) was paced by Lynch with a game high 22 points and 10 rebounds, followed by both Trelun Banks and Joel Hopkins as they both finished with 12 points each for SU.   Banks led Jaguars in assists with four, while Adrian Rodgers recorded three steals.
 
UAPB will return to action on Monday, February 16 as they will host Alcorn State at H.O. Clemmons Arena in a 7:30 p.m. start.
