UAPB Basketball Battles Hawaii in Honolulu

UAPB set to face Hawaii tonight in Honolulu at 11:00 p.m. CT

HONOLULU, Hawaii. - (Dec. 2) - Wednesday will be a late night for fans of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball, as the team faces Hawaii at 11 p.m. central time at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

UAPB opened their season with a win over Seattle University, before coming off a brutal tough non conference schedule against Michigan St., Nebraska, Cincinnati, Army and coming from behind to defeat Southeastern Louisiana in the Barclay's Classic held in West Point, NY.

The Golden Lions Men's Basketball program will be back on the road to a warmer climate in Honolulu, Hawaii, but only on a business trip and that's to square up against Mountain West Conference opponent Hawaii Rainbows.

The Golden Lions are returning three starters, along with several key experience players from last year team, senior forward JoVaughn Love, junior guard Ghiavonni Robinson, senior forward Thaddeus Handley Jr., senior forward Trent Whiting, senior forward Devin Berry, and senior forward Chauncey Parker.

Also Head Coach George Ivory brought come key pieces to go along with the nucleus of this year team; Charles Jackson freshman guard 6'5 210 lbs out of Cleveland, MS., junior Deshon Bayless 6'8 220 lbs forward from Laurel, MS., Jaquan Lynch 6'3 180 lbs guard combo out of Brooklyn, New York and Marcus Wallace 6'3 180 lbs freshman from Jackson, MS.

UAPB (2-5) will be traveling more than 3,900 miles to face the Rainbow Warriors, which will be their fourth meeting in six years with Hawaii (4-1) winning last year match up 85-57.

The Golden Lions will be home Jan. 16 to start conference play (Greek Night) at 7:30 p.m. to face Alabama St.
