Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. (Jan. 17) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped their fourth straight Southwestern Athletic Conference game as Southern University defeated the Golden Lions, 70-60 here Saturday evening at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
This is the worst conference start for the Golden Lions since the 2011-2012 season, when UAPB dropped their first four conference games of the season.
Tevin Hammond scored the first points of the game as he connected on the first of two free throws at the 18:22 mark of the half, to give UAPB a 1-0 lead.
Marcel Mosley and Thaddeus Handley pushed the Golden Lions lead to 7-3 on back-to-back three pointers with 16:49 left.
SU tied the contest at 7-7 on a put-back and a two made free throws by Frank Snow with 16:10 remaining in the first.
The Jaguars extended their lead to 21-13 with a 14-6 run, capped off by a Snow put-back.

Ghiavonni Robinson cut the Jaguars lead to 24-23 with 7:53 left, capping a 10-3 run by the Golden Lions.
SU responded with run of their own as they made the score 38-25 on a dunk by Keith Davis, capping a 14-2 run by the Jaguars.
Mosley scored the Golden Lions final five points of the half as UAPB went into the break trailing SU, 42-30.
UAPB finished the first half shooting 36.7 percent (11-of-30) as Mosley scored 15 of UAPB's first half points, while SU shot 61.5 percent (16-of-26).
The Golden Lions opened the second half with a 9-4 run to cut SU's lead to 47-39 on three made free throws by Mosley with 14:10 left in the contest.
UAPB cut SU's lead to 57-52 on three more made free throws by the Mosley at the 5:52 mark of the contest.
That would be the closes that the Golden Lions would get as SU went on to win the contest 70-60.
UAPB (3-16, 0-4 SWAC) was led by Mosley with a game high 26 points to lead all- scorers, followed by both Hammond and Robinson as they both finished the contest with 11 points each for the Golden Lions.
SU (8-12, 5-1 SWAC) had four Jaguars to score in double-figures with Snow scoring a team high 17 points, followed by Joell Hopkins with 12, Adrian Rogers added 11 and Jared Sam with 10. Sam also led SU on the boards with eight.
UAPB will return to action on Monday, January 19 as they will travel to Alcorn State, Miss., to take on Alcorn State in a 7:30 p.m. start at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
