Box Score ATHENS, Ohio (Nov. 25) - In their first of three games in the Mid-West, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team dropped a 69-60 decision to Ohio University, here Tuesday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
UAPB opened the first stanza of play with a 7-3 lead, capped off by a
Ghiavonni Robinson field goal with 15:31 left in the first.
The Bobcats reclaimed the lead with an 11-6 run to take a 14-13 lead on a pair of Maurice Ndour free throws at the 11:10 mark of the half.
A three pointers by Robinson with 6:56 left in the half would tie the contest at 18-18.
Jaylon Floyd scored the Golden Lions final points of the half on a pair of free throws at the 1:06 mark as UAPB went into the break trailing OU, 30-28 at the half.
UAPB finished the first half shooting 33.3 percent (9-of-27), while OU shot 41.7 percent (10-of-24).
The Golden Lions opened the second half of play with a 9-2 run as they took a 37-32 lead with 17:12 to go on pair of
Marcel Mosley free throws.
Mike Laster tied the contest at 37-37 with 16:07 left with a pair of free throws, capping a 5-0 run by the Bobcats.
A three pointer by Mosley put the Golden Lions ahead 45-41 with 14:16 to go as UAPB scored eight points in a minute and half.
The Bobcats countered with a 7-0 run as they took a 48-45 lead with 11:04 to go, capped off by a Treg Setty layup.
Mosley tied the contest at 50-50 with his made three pointer with 6:18 left.
UAPB knotted the score again at 54-54 on a
Tevin Hammond field goal with 4:58 left in the contest.
OU used a 6-0 run to take a 60-54 lead with 2:47 to go as they went four-for-four from the charity stripe and scoring with a Javarez Willis field goal.
Mosley cut the OU's lead to 60-57 as he scored with a 1:46 remaining. But that would be the closes that UAPB would get as the Bobcats ended the contest with a 9-3 run for the 69-60 win.
UAPB finished the contest shooting 32.8 percent (21-of-64), while OU shot 44.9 percent (22-of-49).
OU (2-1) had three Bobcats to score in double-figures as Ndour scored 21 points and pull downs 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Willis added 16, while Laster finished with 10.Â
UAPB (1-5) was paced by Mosley with 20 points and five rebounds, followed by Robinson with 15. Â Hammond led the team in assists with six.
