Dallas, Texas – SMU placed four players in double figures and hit a string of freethrows to down UAPB 87-61 Sunday afternoon at the Moody Coliseum. The game was highlighted by 34 foul calls.

Junior forward Davon Haynes led the Golden Lions (2-3) with 18 points and four rebounds. Daniel Broughton added 13 points, while Ghiavonni Robinson and Tevin Hammond ended with 12 apiece.

UAPB was rebounded 38-16, which played a big part in the SMU scoring attack. The Mustangs' piled up 52 points in the paint.

The Mustangs shot 16-of-22 (72%) in the first half. UAPB went just 11-of-27 (40.7%) from the line. UAPB went just 13-for-23 at the line in comparison.

The Lions will continue their three game road trip on Tuesday when they travel to College Station to face Texas A&M in the Corpus Christi Challenge.
