Golden Lions hold on to win third straight game defeating ASU 62-61

PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions basketball team captured their third straight Southwestern Athletic Conference win on Monday as they held on to defeat the Alabama State Hornets 62-61.
 
At one point of the contest UAPB held a 19 point advantage but ASU battled back to make the game close down the stretch.
 
With the win the Golden Lions improved to 4-7 in SWAC for the season which puts them in prime position to make a solid run going into the tournament.
 
Savalace Townsend hit some timely buckets to help the Golden Lions preserve the win as he tallied 18 points.
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will travel to Baton, Rouge to face the Southern Jaguars on Saturday, February 11th, before traveling to face the Alcorn State Braves the following Monday.
