Honolulu, HI- The start of 2012-2013 men's basketball season is upon us, and what better way to start the season than on the warm sands of Hawai'i. But this is no pleasure trip for Golden Lions; this trip is all about business.
The Golden Lions are scheduled to play three games in four days in the 2012 Outrigger Hotel and Resorts Rainbow Classic. The first game is scheduled for Friday, November 9, against Houston Baptist. Tip-off for this contest is scheduled for 4:30 pm Hawai'i- Aleutian standard time.
Next up for the Golden Lions in Hawai'i will be the University of Hawai'i on Sunday, November 11 at 5:00 pm. The Golden Lions will wrap up the Rainbow Classic on Monday, November 12, when they face the University of Maryland – Eastern Shores. That game will tip-off at 4:00 pm; there is a four hour time zone difference.
”There's a lot of energy. The guys are running the floor hard and shooting the ball well,” Ivory said. “Our main focus right now is getting better at our defensive rotation. I think we're going to do that once we get to know each other a little better, and play a couple of games.”
The Golden Lions have an extensive first half of the season with all of their games on the road. The home opener for the Golden Lions will be January 2
nd when they play host to Mississippi Valley State University.
